Turkish delight vodka – Helen McGinn

Equipment

  • 1-litre vodka bottle
  • Funnel
  • Sieve
  • Storage bottles

Ingredients

  • Vodka: 1 litre bottle
  • Rosewater: 1 teaspoon
  • Caster sugar: 1 teaspoon
  • Turkish delight: 100g, chopped (plus extra for packaging)

Method

  1. Pour out 100ml of vodka from the bottle (reserve for other uses).
  2. Mix rosewater and caster sugar until sugar dissolves.
  3. Pour the rosewater mixture into the vodka bottle using a funnel.
  4. Wash any sugar coating off the Turkish delight.
  5. Add chopped Turkish delight to the vodka bottle.
  6. Screw on the lid and let stand for up to a month.
  7. Swirl the bottle occasionally to help Turkish delight dissolve.
  8. After infusion, sieve out any remaining Turkish delight pieces.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with soda water and ice
  • Drizzle neat over vanilla ice cream
  • Mix with lychee juice and soda water
