Stewed plums with sweet goats’ cheese cream


For the plums
  • 2 plums, stones removed, halved
  • ½ bottle red wine
  • 1 orange, juice and zest
  • 100g/3½oz caster sugar
  • 1 tsp mixed spice
  • 1 tsp cloves
For the sweet goats’ cheese cream
  • 50g/1½oz goats’ cheese
  • 50ml/2fl oz double cream
  • 50ml/2fl oz runny honey

Preparation method

  1. For the stewed plums, place all of the ingredients into a saucepan, bring to the boil and simmer for 6-7 minutes, or until the plums are tender.

  2. Remove the plums from the liquid using a slotted spoon and transfer to a bowl.

  3. For the sweet goats’ cheese cream, place all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix well to combine.

  4. To serve, spoon some of the goats’ cheese cream over the plums in the bowl.
