Before his culinary career took off, Rick Stein briefly ran a nightclub that was shut down by the police for being too rowdy. Also, many of the chefs he has worked with have been dyslexic, which he believes may be linked to greater creativity.

Jack Stein is the Chef Director for his father Rick’s seafood restaurants. Though now a celebrated chef Jack initially pursued academia, earning degrees in Psychology and Ancient History. He later traded textbooks for knives, training in Paris and Sydney before returning to the family business. Jack authored World on a Plate.
