- Semi-skimmed milk: 285ml (half a pint)
- Plain flour: 115g (4oz)
- Medium eggs: 3
- Salt: a pinch
- Sunflower oil: for cooking
Method
Prepare the Batter
- In a mixing bowl, combine the plain flour and a pinch of salt.
- Add the eggs and whisk together until smooth.
- Gradually mix in the semi-skimmed milk until fully combined.
- Set the batter aside to rest for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat the Oven and Tray
- Preheat your oven to 230°C (450°F/Gas 8).
- Add about 1cm (half an inch) of sunflower oil into each section of a Yorkshire pudding tray.
- Place the tray in the oven to heat up for about 5 minutes until the oil is hot.
Bake the Yorkshire Puddings
- Carefully remove the hot tray from the oven.
- Quickly pour the batter into each section of the tray, filling them about halfway.
- Bake for approximately 30 minutes until they are crisp and well-risen. Avoid opening the oven door during baking to ensure they rise properly.
